Francis y Lilly conocen a Marina Abramovic

Nya, holis ^^ (Les da a todos un megaabrazo)

Aún estoy un poco ausente por lo de los exámenes, (hacia finales de mes ya seré libre, creo), pero no dejó de pasarme por aquí y hoy os traigo otro dibujo sobre la serie dedicada a artistas contemporáneos. En esta ocasión Lilly y yo conocemos a Marina Abramovic e intervenimos en su performance "Rhythm 5".

Marina siempre se ha caracterizado por hacer girar sus obras en torno al rito y la capacidad del ser humano por soportar el dolor, de modo que en ellas ha sido común que se inflinja graves daños corporales o se lleve a sí misma a situaciones extremas.

En "Rhythm 5", de 1974, Marina construyó una enorme estrella de madera, la empapó con petróleo, le prendió fuego y como si se tratase de un antiguo rito se cortó las uñas para luego lanzarlas al fuego. Tras eso entró en la estrella y se tumbó en el suelo. Poco después el fuego acabó con el oxígeno y Marina se desmayó. De no ser por la intervención del público hubiera muerto. Mi fantasmita y yo estábamos presentes y al percatarnos de lo que sucedía nos lanzamos a por ella a toda prisa, extintor incluído.

Cabe añadir que no ha sido la única ocasión en la que la artista ha estado a un paso de la muerte a causa del carácter extremos de sus obras. En otra de ellas puso un ventilador industrial en reversa y aspiró todo el aire que despedía hasta que sus pulmones se inflaron demasiado y casi se ahogó con su propio oxígeno, para otra de sus obra tragó dos potentes pastillas para enfermedades mentales a un tiempo, lo que le provocó una reacción violenta con tremendas sacudidas, en una tercera, en la que era el público quien tenía el protagonismo, fue torturada por los asistentes de muchas maneras y uno de ellos estuvo a punto de pegarle un tiro en la frente con una pistola, etc. Como véis el arte es muy arriesgado a veces.

I'm still a little absent because of the exams, (at the end of this month I will be free, I think), but I keep going through here and today I bring you another drawing of the series dedicated to contemporary artists. This time Lilly and I meet Marina Abramovic and intervene in their performance "Rhythm 5".

Marina has always been characterized by spinning his works around the theme of ritual and the ability of human beings for enduring the pain, so that in their performances has been common that injures herself, thereby causing serious bodily injury or brought herself to extreme situations.

In "Rhythm 5", 1974, Navy built a huge wooden star, filled it with oil and set fire as if it were an ancient rite cut the nails and then throw them into the fire. After that she entered into the star and lay on the ground. Shortly after the fire absorbed all the oxygen and Marina fainted. if it had not been for the intervention of the public she would have died. My little ghost and I were present and in realizing what was happening we ran toward her in a hurry, fire extinguisher included.

In addition of that, this hasnt been the only occasion on which the artist has been on the verge of death because of the extreme nature of his works. In another of them she puts an industrial fan in reverse and sucked all the air until their lungs are too inflated and she nearly choked on her own oxygen, in another of her works she swallowed at a time two powerful pills for two different mental illness, that causes a violent reaction with tremendous jolts, in a third, in which was the public who had the main role, she was tortured by they in many ways and one of them was about to shoot her in the forehead with a gun, etc. As you can see art is very risky at times.
